ABV: 6.9%
IBU: 5
RATING
90
This offering from Anderson Valley has a malty aroma with some sweet notes and spicy scents that all work together to create one hell of a fine start to a beer. With all the CO2 released during the pour, the carbonation appears intense; however, it turns out it's just a bit higher than most winter brews, and it helps the beer feel filling on those chilly evenings. The clean malt taste is rounded by significant biscuit flavors and a mild hop finish, which never dominates but actually offers stability. The smoothness is surprising and helps to finish the experience cleanly. Hats off to Anderson Valley's brewers for creating a delicious winter beer.
