Old Foghorn is a refreshing taste of tradition: Since 1975, Anchor has been brewing this European style barleywine. The aroma is mild with strong hints of European malts and hops, and the golden head lasts reasonably long. However, this beer truly shines in its flavor: There is no alcohol bite, and the peach and cirtrus flavors come through perfectly. The malt is strong but not overpowering and provides a solid body that plays well against the hops. Old Foghorn is easily one of the best barleywines in the country, if not the world. |
