From one of the world's most experimental and exciting breweries comes a particularly strong ale, Old Crustacean. This brew has one of the most intense aromas we have come across, with macadamia nut and strawberry tones alongside strong hop and subdued malt flavors. The rich orange color and robust head are wonderful and the flavor is mostly hoppy, but the malt certainly plays a strong role, too. The alcohol in this brew is very noticeable and a bit too strong. If the body were upped, it would balance the harshness and make this much more enjoyable. The best way to do that? Buy several bottles and let them age. |
