German Pilsner
ABV: 5.2%
IBU: Unknown
RATING
91
Bavik is a Belgian beer, and while the brewery makes no claims of crafting a German pilsner, its version is closer to the German variation of the style than the Bohemian version, so we included it in these reviews. Either way, this is a very malty pilsner with noticeable fruit notes in the aroma. The underlying fruits (apricots and peaches) make any hops in this beer hard to detect. The flavor's maltiness is rich, and while there is still a fruitiness to the taste, it isn't as distinct as in the aroma. The hop flavor and bitterness are moderate to low, and the beer is fresh and stimulating. Watch out, Stella: Bavik's pilsner is one of Belgium's latest and greatest exports.
