Anchor Bock Beer

Though Anchor has been one of craft brewing's leaders since the early 20th century, it wasn't until two short years ago that the brewery decided to grace us with a bock -- and for a youngster, this is one quality example of the style. Anchor Bock is strikingly complex for a traditional bock, and while it isn't terribly warming, in most every other way it's reminiscent of an eisbock. It has a great tan head that holds a full aroma of cocoa and roasted malt. The flavor is not quite as intriguing as the aroma: Instead, it has simpler malt tones, making this bock uncomplicated but still quite enjoyable. |
