DRAFT REVIEW: Fuller's London Porter
Fuller's London Porter
Griffin Brewery
London, England
Robust Porter
ABV: 5.4%
IBU: Unknown
RATING
92
How could we review porters and not include one of the most revered examples of the style brewed in the country where porters originated? Dark with ruby tones and crafted with perfect carbonation and a wonderful head, Fuller's is redolent of a fine mocha coffee. Roasted in the taste, this porter leans heavily on its malt base, and while the hop bitterness is minute, what is there lingers. Surprisingly, all of this brew's malt doesn't leave the beer too thick or creamy. In fact, it has the best consistency of any porter we tried. Griffin is London's oldest brewery, and we are glad they continue to produce incredible ales.
