This is one of the more interesting porters available in the United States. It is the darkest porter we reviewed; virtually no light was able to penetrate its opaqueness. The head is good and rocky (and quite dark itself), while the aroma is highly roasted with some caramel notes and very little chocolate. There's also a hint of sweetness to the aroma which, while slightly unusual for a porter, led right into the taste. The amout of sweetness in this brew was different, but it wasn't unpleasant, as it was somewhat neutralized by the beer's smooth, roasted character. The body was clean but also very filling, making this brew one of Poland's best. |
