What a distinguished start for this fine ale! This brew is a beautiful amber color (darker than most hefeweizens) and has a thick, frosty head. While the aroma opens with mostly clove and a bit of spicy nutmeg, bubblegum notes are also at hand, and they stick around into the flavor of this beer. These notes aren't sweet and work wonders with the banana flavors that are present. The hops are very minimal and only make a brief appearance at the end of the swallow. There is a minute citrus flavor in this beer as well, which keeps it refreshing even though its malt presence is toastier because this beer is a dunkelweizen. |
