While technically within style guidelines, X is one of those fun beers that pushes the envelope and cranks it up a notch with hop presence at every turn. The aroma is strong on all levels, with the malt making a surprisingly significant appearance. In the flavor, the fresh hops are piney and resinous throughout, and even in the bitterness they don't seem sharp. The carbonation was quite high in our sample, which affected the mouthfeel but overall, this beer was very drinkable. |
