The Kalamath St. location is a great choice if you find yourself in Denver, but if you are looking for a true craft brewing experience, make your way a few hours west to the ski town the brewery's named for. Breckenridge's brewers will be happy to give you a tour and pour you a flight of their ales, especially their flagship brew, Avalanche Amber. It's a smooth beer with a minor fruit flavor. The malt and hops were fresh, which translates well into the taste. Perhaps the best part of drinking this beer is the rich body that loiters on our tongues like the tourists who stay in the brewpub all day, never lured away by the 2,358 acres of slopes just outside the door. |
