ABV: 4.6%
IBU: 30
RATING
90
This beer hails from Vermont, so pair it with some fresh cheddar cheese. The pleasant carbonation cuts through the fat of the cheese, making an instantly memorable pairing. Long Trail Ale starts with a thick yet enjoyable aroma with strong interpretations of both malt and hops in the nose. The slightly softer flavor fits the style well, with herbal nuances and an earthy, almost applelike taste. The crispness from the lagering is evident (although it could be slightly cleaner), and the ale's fruity esters are obvious. The mouthfeel is moderately thin and pleasing, making it a good pair for many types of food, both in Vermont and out.
