Strong Scotch Ale
ABV: 8.0%

RATING
93
Jacobite was originally brewed to celebrate the anniversary of the 1745 Jacobite Rebellion, which was an attempt to get Bonnie Prince Charlie into the British throne. Today, his descendents still live in the prince's mansion and have made it the oldest continually inhabited house in Scotland. The beer they produce here is malty and caramel in flavor and aroma. As a bonus, Jacobite is spiced with coriander, which gives it an earthy, natural taste. This is not your average beer: The color will remind you of coal, and the body is heartier than most. Chocolate and cherry flavors provide a bittersweet finish, which also has a touch of coriander spice.
