Laughing Lab Scottish Ale

This beer's awards are too numberous to list here, but the fact that it has taken two gold medals, three silver medals, and two bronze medals as the GABF in the last 13 years says a lot. Laughing Lab will continue to take home top honors because it is one of the best Scottish ales made in America today. Faint earthy tones accompany the concentrated malt aromas of nuts and ripe fruit. The flavor is similar, but it reveals delicate smoke flavors as well. This malty smokiness gathers strength throughout the drink, and by the time the beer is on the back of your tongue, the malt has fully overwhelmed the minor hop bitterness. Although this wasn't the most brilliantly clear example of the style, the color had a nice ruby hue to it. |
