ABV: 4.3%
IBU: 25
RATING
87
Just a short two-hour drive from Boston lies the quaint Woodstock Inn which, aside from being a peaceful place to rest your head, also happens to be a brewery. Its handcrafted brews include a wassail for the holidays and a porter made with maple syrup. Not quite as eccentric (but just as good) is Pig's Ear. This example of a brown ale pours out of its bottle with a menacing dark chocolate color and a sweet nutty aroma. Sweetness is this beer's most prevalent characteristic, and although it is slightly cloying, the creamy body covers is nicely. Herbal hops make a strong finish in this beer, but do not linger.
