Maple Nut Brown
Tommyknocker Brewery

American Brown Ale
ABV: 4.5%
IBU: 17
RATING
85
A small amount of maple syrup is added to this brew, which lends an added sweetness that is almost too syrupy; this beer needs a thicker body to stand up to this sweetness, and some stronger hops would help as well. The smell of fresh maple syrup is wonderful in Maple Nut Brown though, so we are more than happy to keep drinking it. Robust malt flavors are at a minimum in this beer, and the brewers have adjusted the carbonation properly. Idaho Springs has a rich mining history, and the building the brewery occupies formerly held an assay office where all the region's gold was weighed. Maple Nut Brown might not be liquid gold, but the contents are well worth paying for.
