Punkin Ale

Released upon the public every fall, Punkin Ale begins with a floral bouquet of allspice and nutmeg as well as a surprisingly high amount of hops. The pumpkin could be upped a bit, but the malt is pleasant and it's a good thing that the pumpkin doesn't overtake that flavor. The strong bitter flavor comes as no surprise, as Dogfish Head is notorious for using large quantities of hops in most of its brews. The alcohol warmth is perfect for taking the chilly edge off cool autumn nights. |
