Led by a soft malt nose and a slight citrus smell, this is one of the most refreshing Vienna lagers we sampled. That malty nose showcases some caramel sweetness and some fruitiness, which is surprising considering this beer is brewed with lager yeast. Wonderful, floral hops are also more prevalent in this beer's flavor than most examples of the style, though the malt flavors are not as noticeable as the style dictates. However, the toasty and biscuitlike flavors are elegant and complement the hops nicely, and the mouthfeel of this brew is well-balanced between crisp and filling. |
