Equinox pours an amber color with good clarity and a big tan, frothy head. Flavors are subdued, with a chocolate sweetness up front and a mild astringency that lasts into the aftertaste, making it a bit harsh. The beer is also a bit thin in body, but boasts a gentle carbonation and low alcohol warming. Overall, for a holiday beer, Equinox was a bit lighter in aroma, taste, and body than we expected. |
