Beyond the novelty of the Star War-inspired theme, this beer is worth cracking open and enjoying. The guys at New England Brewing have crafted this stout to have an intensely sweet and malty aroma, along with strong chocolate, caramel, anise, and smoke scents. Of course, the big aroma would mean little if the flavor wasn't there to back it up. Thankfully, this beer delivers on flavor in a big way, presenting more complexity with the added notes of coffee and molasses. As you might expect with an imperial stout, the hops play a small role in the profile; they're there only to lend support to ensure the beer isn't overly sweet. Additionally, the beer's massive body is everything you'd expect for the style. |
