Coopers Best Extra Stout
Foreign Extra Stout
ABV: 6.3% IBU: Unknown |
Cooper pours as you'd expect, black in color with a brown, frothy head showing good staying power. The aroma is subtle overall, but decidely roasted in character with a pleasant floral hop note. Drinking this is easy enough, with the beer beginning mild and a bit watery, then pushing into a deep roasted quality with a dry finish and lasting astringency. Were the astringency of the beer more mellow, this would be a wonderfully refreshing beer. Coopers is thin with a biting carbonation and very low alcohol warming, and would go great with a light dinner of clam chowder, which would complement the beer's dry and astringent qualities. |
