Hibernation Ale
Old Ale
ABV: 8.1% IBU: 37 |
Hibernation begins with a wonderully clean aroma, almost like a lager, wtih strong Vienna malts redolent of a well-made (albeit big) Oktoberfest, with acoompanying alcohol and biscuit notes. The flavor is complex to say the least, with chocolate, smoke, coffee, candy, and brown sugar sweetness up front, followed by toffee and a mild, earthy, and herbal hop spice. Hibernation finishes slightly sweet and features a mild ligering smoke aftertaste. With its medium-full body, moderate carbonation, and reassuring alcohol warmth, this beer is perfect for chilly nights. |
