RATING
82
Amish Four Grain is a deep golden, dense beer with great clarity and a white, frothy head. Its aroma is faint, with hints of biscuity malted barley and gentle hops. Starting with a subtle, toasted grain flavor, the beer actually takes on a profile more akin to amber ales, with meaty malt and dull, earthy hop flavors. The beer’s bitterness is low, but there’s just enough to balance the roasted-malt sweetness. Amish Four Grain finishes dry with mild acidic sharpness, seemingly from the elevated carbonation level. This is a thin-bodied beer, with high carbonation and very low alcohol presence, with an aftertaste that boasts notes of nutty malt flavors, like walnuts and roasted barley.
