ABV: 5.4%
IBU: 22
RATING
90
Interestingly, this beer is named for Che Guevara, the 20th-century Latin American radical revolutionary. Che, the lager, isn’t nearly as complicated, pouring a clear gold with a pillowy white head and a sharp, green meadowlike aroma with nutty toasted grain scents. The beer drinks like a pale ale, although cleaner and without any fruity notes. There is a bready flavor at the forefront followed quickly by citrusy, grassy hops. The bitterness is assertive -- higher than the IBU count suggests -- giving a slight bite to the sides of the mouth, but never coming on too strong. Che finishes dry, has a medium body, and is crisp and very clean in the finish.
