Dutch Girl Lager
|
Brewed in a lovely, rustic building in northwestern Washington just south of the Canadian border, Dutch Girl is a transparent, gold beer, a bit darker than most American lagers, with a frothy, milky white head. The brew reveals a sweet apple aroma with very little hops. The first sip exposes a very sweet flavor up front, with more green apple characteristics and a buttery texture. The hops are crisp and moderately bitter, lasting long into the aftertaste, while displaying grapefruit pith flavors throughout. Medium-bodied with high carbonation and mild alcohol warmth, Dutch Girl is a fine-tasting beer, though its sweet, heavy finish displays its lack of refreshing qualities. |
