Schwarzbier (Black Beer)

With its garnet edges and nearly black appearance, this beer has the rich appearance schwarzbiers are known for. Its aroma beckons the nose with deeply roasted malts, a savory, earthy hop presence, and a touch of smoke. Black Bavarian’s taste starts off with a rush of toffee and molasses, which is overcome by assertive roasted malt flavors before finishing with bittersweet chocolate notes. Hops dance in the background, but the earthy and bitter tastes balance the sweetness. This brew is medium-bodied with very soft carbonation and low alcohol warmth, and its roasted barley flavors stick around for a long time.
