Ur-Weisse pours light gold with a firm, off-white head. The aroma emanates softly with clove and ripe banana notes and a touch of alcohol. At the front of the taste, modest caramel malts reminiscent of artisan bread crust tease the tongue before deepening into clove spice and sweet banana tango. The brew’s kettle caramelization stands out, though its burnt sugar flavors are lessened by the brew’s gentle
carbonation. Ayinger finishes dry with no hop flavors on the tongue.
