Imperial IPA

Imperial pours gold with nice clarity and a big head -- all expected in a well-made double IPA. The aroma is like sticking your nose in a handful of Columbus hops; pungent, oily and spicy with a hint of citrus. The flavor starts off with mild husky grain characteristics with a bit of sweet malt, then marches into something of a hops celebration: big, resinous, spicy tastes -- mimicking the aroma with great success. This is a full-bodied brew, gently carbonated and big in alcohol. Green Flash finishes sweet with prolonged hop resins lasting deep into the aftertaste. |
