Double Daddy
|
Though the name hearkens to a time when drinkers imbibed in silence at secret speakeasies, this beer is anything but quiet. To begin, it pours honey-gold in color, with a slight haze and a tan frothy head. Its aroma is grassy, with big grapefruit notes and a healthy dose of alcohol. The flavor starts with subtle candy sweetness before moving into a display of grapefruit pith and spicy hop flavors. There’s a distracting alcohol component to the beer, which is surprising given its relatively thin body. Double Daddy finishes dry and shows off a lasting hop bitterness and grapefruit flavor. |
