Detonator is clear, mahogany brown with a big, frothy crown. The aroma is massive; the burnt sugar scents, biscuit notes and hot alcohol in the nose are intense. Its taste is brash, with strong roasted grains and astringency, all sweetened with brown sugar. Detonator has some rough edges, but is ultimately a tasty beer. It finishes slightly sweet, with its full body and significant alcohol warmth mingling well with the toffee aftertaste. |
