Bitch Creek, a ruby-highlighted, dark brown brew, emits a spectrum of aromas: piney hops, sweet malts, raisins, and light fruity esters. Hops may rule the bouquet, but dark, caramel malts are the headlining flavor. Backed by secondary toasted notes, caramel slides across the tongue as grapefruit-peel hops emerge to pinch the sides of the mouth with reverb. There’s harmony at work as the beer unfolds, and as the last notes of bitterness fade in the finish, noticeable alcohol warmth sinks down into the chest. It may be aggressive for the style, but definitely worth a spin. |
