Boulevard’s trailer-themed IPA is a worthy brew for weary tongues. Hazy, yet radiant orange, Single-Wide emits a prickly, hoppy aroma; citrus swells and black pepper spice are grazed by alcohol warmth. On the front of the tongue, bready, grainy malt flavors fan out and progress into the throat as clean hop bitterness emerges. The hops’ complexity builds in the mouth: Pepper, orange citrus, and a touch of mint poke out early in the sip and evolve to a bitter dryness that leaves the mouth clean. After a few sips, it’s clear this intense bitterness would be pleasantly tempered by more malt sweetness, but overall, this beer achieves a level of beauty not often associated with trailer parks. |
