Inversion pours a beautifully clear dark gold hue with bursts of brightness shimmering on the sides of the glass. Sweet caramel fills the bouquet alongside a bounty of grassy hops; just a hint of alcohol tweaks the nose. Strong enough to flirt with double IPAs, Inversion delivers a big mouthfeel of motivated, aggressive hops. Sweet caramel hits the tongue first; by the time it reaches the sides of the mouth, it’s engulfed by hop bitterness. As hop sharpness scrapes the tongue front to back, fleeting resinous, piney flavors peek out. Overall, this heavily bitter IPA is a joy for any serious hop-head -- especially those who love the lingering, dry finish for which the style is known. |
