The first beer since Prohibition to be made with all-Wisconsin ingredients, the aptly named Local Acre pours slightly hazy and dark gold, crowned by a bright white head. The aroma’s robustly bready and grainy, though a quick whiff of lemon swirls to the nose, too. On the front of the tongue, grainy malts with toffee accents open up to bitter hops, a bit abrasive for the style, that dig in mid-sip. Overall, this lager’s refreshing, even if it’s a few notches louder than its colleagues. |
