There’s no mistaking Hop Czar’s aroma: Out of this bright, clear orange brew, dank swells of pungent, oily and herbal hops rise to dominate the aroma. Despite its one-sided aroma, the flavor shares equal time between malts and hops in the mouth. Light bready flavors wash over the tongue first, followed by zesty orange-peel bitterness that explodes on the palate mid-sip. While bitterness claws in the back of the swallow, a toasty malt thread emerges and holds its ground, keeping the hops in check. A bitter hop finish and notable alcohol warmth leave the mouth dry and thirsting for more. |
