Siebel Institute and DRAFT Magazine Giveaway

The Siebel Institute of Technology (America's Oldest Brewing School) and DRAFT Magazine are giving away an all expenses paid scholarship to Siebel's Master of Beer Styles and Evaluation Program.

Siebel Institute of Technology

This course is comprised of both the 1-Day Sensory Analysis for Flavor Production & Control course and the 3-Day Master of Beer Styles Course.

The Siebel Institute says this about the 1-Day Sensory Analysis Course:

"Designed to give brewers the tools they need to effectively identify and control flavors and aromas in beer, the one-day Sensory Analysis course takes students through samples of flavor & aromatic compounds associated with raw materials and brewing, analyses the origins of those compounds, and gives students the knowledge required to effectively control them."

And this is part of the description for the 3-Day Master of Beer Styles Course:

"The Siebel Institute Master of Beer Styles course is designed to give professional brewers the skills they need to create award-winning ales, lagers and specialty beers. Using the styles guidelines created for the Association of Brewers' World Beer Cup, this course provides in-depth analysis of the techniques and technologies used to design and brew the full range of established and emerging styles."

Winning this package would lead to an incredible once in a lifetime experience for a homebrewer or beer aficionado. The full package includes a 1,000 dollar airfare and hotel stipend as well as the full tuition for the 4 day course. All you would need to cover would be time off of work!

While you are not required to be a professional brewer to attend this course, the Siebel Institute does expect you to have previous knowledge of the fermentation process and some brewing or homebrewing experience will definitely make your time at Siebel more enjoyable.

The dates for this particular course are: March 24th - 27th, 2009
