Russian River Fleurette debuts Wednesday
Published by Staff on 6.2.2008 at 3:39 p.m.Bay-area beer drinkers should make haste to Toronado (547 Haight Street in San Francisco) this Wednesday, June 4, as the pub welcomes Russian River’s crew and newest release, Fleurette. Created by brewmaster Vinnie Cilurzo in conjunction with Italian brewmaster Agostino Arioli of Birrifico Italiano, Fleurette uses flowers for added flavor. DRAFT’s beer director, Rick Sellers, sampled a taste two weeks ago; he reports that Fleurette is “certainly unique; the herbal and wet floral flavors really come through.” Patrons can also expect to find a number of other hard-to-find brews from Russian River, including Temptation, Supplication and Beatification—all crafted in the Belgian tradition —and American ales like Pliny the Elder and Blind Pig.
